SUMMER

& FALL

HUSKY HIKE - LAKE DYCKE

Estimated time: ca 2 h

May - September. Booking must be done with a minimum of one day in advance.

During the warmer months of the year when the training decreases and the huskies are resting from running in harness, we spend a lot of time hiking in the beautiful woods of Härjedalen. This is your opportunity to join us! The hike towards Lake Dycke is our shorter option.

We will meet up at our kennel where you get a quick introduction of the dogs, how they life and of our lifestyle. Before we head out for our hike we will supply you with a special walking belt and bungee leash - and of course a dog to take care of. Please note that small children won't get to have a dog of their own, for safety reasons. Our dogs are trained to walk in front and with a slight pull even when on leash - and they are strong.

The hike will take us through the deep pine forests of Glöte all the way to Lake Dycke, where we will take a short break and have a Swedish Fika before it's time to head back to the kennel.

Do you have children that might be too small to enjoy the terrain, but still want to go on a hike with us? Don't hesitate to contact us with your request  - we will change the route to one that is more suitable for your company.

NB: Don't forget to inform us of eventual allergies concerning food and beverage when booking your tour.

MOUNTAIN HIKES WITH HUSKIES

Estimated time: choose between a short hike (2 h), the halfday(4h) or a full day (6-7h)

May - September. Booking must be done with a minimum of one day in advance if short hike, and three days in advance for the half or full day.

During the warmer months of the year when the training decreases and the huskies are resting from running in harness, hiking in the mountains together is one of our favourite activities. We offer different alternatives and difficulty levels - make sure to choose one that suits you!

Hiking with huskies is a lovely way of getting to know their nature and personalities. It will give you a glimpse of their physical capacity as they are trained to walk in front of you with a slight pull on the bungee leash. This will come in handy when climbing uphill! All participants will get a dog of their own to care for during the hike.  We will also supply you with a special walking belt and a bungee leash.

Please note that small children won't get to have a dog of their own, for safety reasons.

All our hiking adventures include a Swedish Fika and the longer tours also include lunch.

NB: Don't forget to inform us of eventual allergies concerning food and beverage when booking your tour,

FALL TRAINING

Estimated time in total: 2-3 hrs

No. of participants: 2

August - October. Booking must be done with a minimum of one day in advance.

Loud, rather crazy and through all kinds of weather - that's the life of the dogs and the musher during fall! This is an opportunity for you to join us during the dryland season and learn more about how these dogs are built up towards the winter season. Are you the type of person who doesn't mind getting some dirt under your nails, a little extra mud in your face and who loves the feeling of being alive? If so, this experience will most likely appeal to you!

Fall training isn't always glamourous or neat, but it will give you a very authentic and real picture of the huge drive and love for running that a sleddog carries within its nature - their love for their job is unmistakable! It will also give you an understanding of the responsibilites of the musher when it comes to dogcare and training the team wisely.

This experience will give you the chance to actively participate in the preparations of the team, putting booties and harnesses on. Or perhaps you'd rather stand on the side watching? No worries - do as you like!

After the training session there will be time to cuddle and socialize with the dogs. We will also invite you to a Swedish Fika by the camp fire.

NB: Don't forget to inform us of eventual allergies concerning food and beverages when booking your tour.

PRICE

500 SEK/ person

DAYS

Bookings can be made between August - November.

NB: This activity is subject to change due to temperatures.
